About Us

We are a community theatre group in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

SMP began as the St. Martin’s Players in 1992. Since 1996, we have mounted a pantomime or cabaret every year (with the exception of 2021 due to the  COVID-19 pandemic). In 2003 we incorporated as a not-for-profit and became SMP Dramatic Society. We focus on teamwork and entertaining audiences of all ages!

In 2004, after eight years of adult pantos, we needed a new way to showcase the talents of our kids, and so we began producing an annual youth-oriented show. The Director, cast members, and all backstage personnel were originally drawn from the children of SMP actors. These youthful members already had several years of experience on stage, and so were immediately successful. Soon friends, then friends of friends, became involved and so our numbers have increased and diversified.

We take joy in bringing live theatre to our community, and we have a lot of fun doing it. Our favourite production? Always the next one!
